Monroe's Game Keeps Growing
When second-year center Greg Monroe was going through the draft process in 2010, one of the question marks about him was a supposed lack of competitive fire.
In retrospect, that criticism seems almost laughable. Monroe may be soft-spoken but he doesn't back down from any challenges. His second game against Sacramento this season was a case in point.
He equaled his career high with 32 points against the Kings in a 124-112 Pistons victory Wednesday night, shooting 15-of-20 from the field and also grabbing 11 rebounds. Monroe easily outplayed Kings center DeMarcus Cousins, who was drafted two picks ahead of him. Cousins had 14 points on 5-of-15 shooting and seven rebounds while battling foul trouble.
