Michigan State's Mark Hollis Named AD Of The Year
EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan State's Mark Hollis has been named athletic director of the year by Street & Smith's SportsBusiness Journal.
Other finalists included Michigan's Dave Brandon, Temple's Bill Bradshaw, Arkansas' Jeff Long and Baylor's Ian McCaw.
The 49-year-old Hollis has helped organize innovative events such as the Spartans' basketball game on an aircraft carrier last season. Michigan State won Big Ten championships in women's cross country, men's basketball and women's golf in 2011-12, and the football team reached the inaugural Big Ten title game.
Michigan State also made the NCAA tournament in men's hockey.
