Michigan Mall Santa Sits Down With Autistic Boy Who Explains Why He's Not Naughty
DETROIT (CBS Detroit) An earnest little boy wanted to make sure Santa knew something before the big day arrives with its load of shiny presents on a sleigh.
He's not naughty, he's autistic.
That's the message the boy, named Landon, delivered to the kindly Santa Claus at RiverTown Crossings Mall outside Grand Rapids, Mich.
Without missing a beat, Santa pulled him close for a serious talk.
"Santa told L to not worry and that he has been a very good boy being who he is," the mother posted on RiverTown's Facebook page, in a post where she thanked the mall and the man playing Santa.
Others heaped on praise.
"So beautiful. I had a similar experience with a mall Santa recently. Thank you God for those among the Santa band who do what they do in the true spirit of Christmas!" wrote Sarah Elizabeth Jinright on the post.
