Michigan Gets Chapter Of Data Center Group
Jason Yaeger, operations manager for the Ann Arbor data center operator Online Tech Inc., has become a co-founder of the Southeast Michigan chapter of 7x24 Exchange.
7x24 Exchange is a national non-profit organization promoting knowledge exchange for those who design, build, use and maintain mission-critical enterprise information infrastructures. With chapters all over the United States, the organization's goal is to improve end-to-end reliability by promoting dialogue in their communities. The recently founded chapter is the first in Southeast Michigan and hopes to increase and encourage IT professionals in the area to share their knowledge and experiences.
"I saw this as a great opportunity to bring together IT professionals in the area and share our experiences. Running mission critical enterprise IT Infrastructure is no small task and we could all learn something from each other," Yaeger said.
Yaeger is currently a vice president in the organization, helping organize their bi-annual conferences and maintaining the organization's Web site at www.7x24semichigan.org. Yaeger has more than 10 years of IT management experience, working as the director of Internet operations at 20/20 Communications and currently as operations manager for Online Tech.
"I am looking forward to the first Southeast Michigan 7x24 Exchange conference this year," Yeager said. "We have two great presenters and it will be a great networking opportunity for IT professionals across the Metro Detroit area."
The chapter will kick off its activities with its first conference on Tuesday, Sept. 14. Representatives from Hewlett Packard and Active Power will speak, and the topic of the meeting is on "Containerized Data-centers and the Containerized Infrastructure That Supports Them."
