Michigan Adds Point Guard Albrecht To Its Recruits

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Michael "Spike" Albrecht has signed a letter of intent to join the Michigan basketball team.

Michigan announced the addition of the 6-foot-1 guard Wednesday. He'll join next season's recruiting class and could become the team's backup point guard after Trey Burke decided to forgo the NBA draft and remain with the Wolverines.

Albrecht says in a statement he's excited to sign with Michigan and he's dreamed of playing in the Big Ten. Albrecht played three varsity seasons at Crown Point High School in Crown Point, Ind., before taking an additional year to attend Northfield Mount Hermon College Prep School in Mount Hermon, Mass.
