Metro Detroiters Beat The Heat Watching Latest Flicks

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - It's a super hot day in metro Detroit with temperatures reaching the triple digits. Many area residents are finding movie theaters a great place to keep cool.

Jason McCrimmon of Detroit took his daughter to the Star Southfield.

"I don't like this (weather) too much, outside is very rough and you don't want to be outside too long, it's very uncomfortable but inside is cool so it's good," said McCrimmon.

McCrimmon and his 10-year-old Icecis saw Madigascar on Saturday.

"Stay in the AC and watch TV, that's about it," Icecis tells WWJ's Beth Fisher, she says sometimes she'll run through the sprinklers.

Rashunda Steele of Redford made her way to the movies on Saturday as well.

"Trying to beat the heat, and enjoy a day date with my husband," said Steele.

The hot movies this weekend are Spiderman, Ted and Savages.
