Massive Heroin Bust At Pontiac Home

PONTIAC (WWJ) - Millions of dollars in illegal drugs were seized in the raid a Pontiac home following a joint investigation by Sheriffs deputies and federal agents in Oakland County.

It happened last Friday in Pontiac, when deputies conducted a traffic stop, discovering two kilos of suspected cocaine in the vehicle.

As a result, detectives from the DEA conducted a follow-up investigation which resulted in a search warrant being authorized for a residence on Pike St. in Pontiac.

During the search, 69 kilograms of heroin and 10.5 kilograms of cocaine were discovered, with a street value estimated around $150 million. Over $560,000 was also seized.

"The sheer quantity of drugs we confiscated last week in our own backyard is startling," said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard in a statement.

"Drugs destroy lives, and I am proud of our team working together with the DEA and SONIC to get them off the street," he said.

No suspects' names or further details have been released, as the investigation continues.
