New Lions general manager Bob Quinn hasn't exactly started a full-out purge on the Patriots' staff, after New England lost Sunday in the AFC championship game. But he did hire a new scout from the Patriots organization - Ron Miles - on Tuesday, according to the team.
Miles was a scouting assistant with the Patriots, after spending several years at Ohio State. He graduated from OSU with a degree in journalism in 2012, and was a coaching assistant for the football team from 2009-2015 before heading to Foxborough.
Quinn has quietly been making changes in the front office since his hiring earlier this month. He announced head coach Jim Caldwell would return, hired Kyle O'Brien (also from the Patriots) as director of player personnel and fired vice president of football operations Cedric Saunders. Quinn also fired several on the Lions' strength and conditioning coaching staff.
Before being named Lions GM, Quinn spent 15 years with the Patriots, most recently as director of pro scouting.
