Lawsuits Dropped As Detroit EM Extends Retiree Benefits
DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr will not make changes to city employee retiree benefits as planned January first.
Instead Orr is extending the current benefits through the end of February to allow more time to negotiate a better plan with the Official Detroit Retiree Committee.
In exchange, the Retiree Committee and others have agreed to drop lawsuits--fighting the city's new retiree health plan.
