DETROIT (WWJ) - Armour-Eckrich Meats says it's voluntarily recalling some of its Keebler Snack-Maker Animal Crackers because the products may contain undeclared peanut residue.

The company says people with severe peanut allergies should avoid eating any of these recalled cookies, although the FDA says the amount of peanut exposure from the flour is low and not expected to cause adverse health effects in the vast majority of peanut allergic consumers.

Products included in the recall are 2.7 oz. packages of Armour® Snackmakers Keebler Animal Crackers with UPC code 27815 00240 and sell-by dates 07/29/16 through 8/30/16 printed on the side of the package.

Armour is asking that people who purchased affected product discard it and contact the company for a full refund.

Consumers can call 1-877-933-4625, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. through 6 p.m. EST.
