Jury In Kid Rock Civil Case Begins Deliberations

Jury deliberations have begun in a civil court case against musician Kid Rock.

The case stems from a 2007 fight in a suburban Atlanta Waffle House between the musician's entourage and another customer. Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, has been on trial in DeKalb County court after Harlen Akins filed suit over the incident.

Akins is seeking about $6,000 in medical fees and unspecified damages.

Kid Rock has testified that he exchanged tough words with Akins but didn't start fighting until provoked.

The jury asked to see a surveillance video of the fight again on Friday.

The musician pleaded guilty in March 2008 to a misdemeanor charge of simple battery stemming from the fight.
