Journalists Converging On Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit will be in the spotlight this week, as journalists from around the world converge on the city.

WWJ's Vickie Thomas reports that over 50 journalists will get a chance to see parts of the city and hear from some of the top movers and shakers, including Mayor Dave Bing.

Jeremiah Staes is the social media editor for the Detroit News hub, and co-founder of Portage Digital Media.

"Transformation Detroit is really a great way to showcase all the transformational stories in the region," Staes said. "What does that mean? That means we're really gonna focus on the doers. You know, there's so many people who are working everyday to make Detroit a better place, and that's who we're gonna highlight. You know, we have a lot of challenges, but we also have a lot of people who are really raising up the city."
