Venture Capital Group Gets New Executive Director: The Michigan Venture Capital Association has hired Carrie Jones as its executive director.  In this role, Jones will work with the organization's board of directors to set MVCA's strategic direction and execute its mission to bring together venture capital groups from across Michigan. Prior to joining MVCA, Jones served as director of the Michigan Film Office. In that role, she was responsible for all of the organization's operations, including the administration of the state's Film and Digital Media Incentive program, marketing, staff management, and industry relations.  Most notably, working closely with state legislators and industry professionals, Jones led the implementation of Michigan's new grant-based film incentive program. Jones earned her bachelor of arts degree in sociology from Furman University. The MVCA is a non-profit trade organization designed to bring together venture capital industry participants in the state of Michigan. Membership includes private venture capital funds, corporate venture capital funds, private equity firms, angel investors, and entrepreneurial infrastructure participants. More at www.michiganvca.org.
