Gongos Research Appoints COO: Camille Nicita has been appointed COO of Auburn Hills-research, the company's founder and CEO John Gongos announced Thursday. The move comes after two years of substantial growth for the company, including a 40 percent growth in revenue, the launch of a financial & diversified research practice, and a 35 percent expansion in its employee base. As COO, she leads the four research practice areas, as well as the community methodologies and information systems-programming teams. Additionally, she oversees the company's people practices, including talent recruitment, development and retention. Nicita began leading the research practice groups in 2009. Prior to that, she led the retail and services team, helping to shape the fastest growing area of research in the company from 2006 to 2008. From 1996 to 2005, Nicita led the qualitative research division at the company. Neogen Names Quinlan as CFO: Lansing-based Neogen Corp. (Nasdaq: NEOG) announced that it has named Steven J. Quinlan as the company's CFO to replace the retiring Richard Current. Current will immediately relinquish his responsibilities as CFO, but will remain with Neogen through the end of the fiscal year, May 31. Quinlan joins Neogen following 19 years at Detrex Corp., the last eight as CFO, vice president of finance, and treasurer. In the position, he was responsible for all of Detrex's finance, accounting, and reporting activities. Detrex is a publicly held diversified manufacturer of PVC and CPVC pipe, duct and shapes, and specialty chemicals including additives for industrial petroleum products and high purity hydrochloric acid. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in business administration, Quinlan earned his CPA while working as an auditor at Price Waterhouse for more than four years; he also served in various financial positions for Ford Motor Co. He joined Detrex as a division controller after completing his MBA at Wayne State University in 1991.  Current assumed the position of Neogen's CFO in November 1999, and has helped drive the company's consistent earnings growth and heightened stature in the investment community. He will remain an employee of Neogen through the end of the current fiscal year to ensure an orderly transition for the role of CFO. Neogen develops and markets products dedicated to food and animal safety. The company's Food Safety Division markets dehydrated culture media, and diagnostic test kits to detect foodborne bacteria, natural toxins, genetic modifications, food allergens, drug residues, plant diseases and sanitation concerns.
