Historic U.S. Coast Guard Cutter For Sale
PORT HURON (WWJ/AP) - The coming Memorial Day holiday is the unofficial start to boating season in Michigan, and if you're interested in a new boat, we might have just the thing.
The Port Huron Museum is ready to sell the "Bramble", a former U.S. Coast Guard cutter that was part of the first U.S. atomic bomb test back in 1947 on Bikini Island.
The Port Huron Museum reports that the Bramble was decommissioned in 2003 to be used as a museum.
The museum says it can no longer afford to keep the 185-foot ship maintained, it's normally the job for a crew of fifty-one.
Start looking in your loafers, as it could be yours for the price of $300,000 dollars.
