GM Wants Lower Ad Rates
DETROIT (WWJ) - General Motors is asking major television networks to lower its advertising rates. This comes as TV networks are preparing to set ad rates for the fall season.
GM wants its rate cut by up to 20 percent. If the networks agree to that, the automaker is willing to move some of its advertising dollars.
GM is the third-largest advertiser in the U.S., behind Proctor and Gamble and AT&T.
