Funeral Arrangements Pending For Columnist And Author Jeff Zaslow
DETROIT (WWJ) - Funeral arrangements are pending for Wall Street Journal columnist and author Jeff Zaslow, who was killed in a car crash in Northern Michigan on Friday.
He is survived by his wife, Fox 2 anchor Sherry Margolis and three daughters.
Zaslow wrote "The Last Lecture" and collaborated with former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords on the memoir," Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope."
Detroit News columnist Neal Rubin was friends with Zaslow. Rubin believes his latest book "The Magic Room" read like a valentine to his three daughters.
"Those of us who knew him, obviously, will miss him. Just a smart, funny, kind human being. Unlike most of us in this life, people who never met him will miss him, but they will , they will sort of have his words to live by and it's a terrific legacy. You don't want a legacy, you want Jeff , but it's a terrific legacy to leave behind nonetheless."
"It's a huge loss to this area. Jeff was very involved. It's a huge loss period. I mean, very few of us can say, we made millions of people the world over re-think how they lived their lives. Jeff did that. That's an amazing legacy to leave behind."
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Ira Kaufman Chapel in Southfield.
