Fire Takes Off At The Old Shillelagh Pub In Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) - Firefighters have contained a blaze at Detroit's iconic Old Shillelagh Irish pub.
The fire took off just before 6 a.m. Tuesday along Monroe Avenue near Brush Street in Greektown.
Officials tell WWJ the fire started in the basement, possibly in the kitchen area.
Firefighters were quick to put out the blaze, which didn't do much damage itself. The building, however, sustained significant water damage, especially on the first floor.
No injuries were reported.
A cause of the fire remains under investigation.
