FBI Busts Ex-Middle School Football Coach In Plot To Have Sex With 6-Year-Old Girl
PONTIAC (WWJ) - A former football coach at a private middle school in Pontiac was arrested at a motel where he had allegedly arranged to have sex with a child.
According to an FBI affidavit, Robert Lesnau responded by phone to a woman offering adult services on Craigslist.
When Lesnau heard the woman's 6-year-old daughter in the background, the affidavit says, he asked how much it would cost to have sex with the young girl.
The woman called police and became a confidential informant for the FBI. When the suspect continued to communicate with the woman via text message, the FBI traced the phone number to Lesnau and the computer IP address to a business he owns in Sterling Heights.
He allegedly arranged a meeting at Red Roof Inn in Rochester where he was taken into custody.
Lesnau was a coach at Notre Dame Marist Academy, according to WDIV-TV which reports the school sent out a letter to parents informing them of Lesnau's arrest.
