Fashion With A Passion
DETROIT (WWJ) - A Macomb County High School student is making a difference by making handbags. Taylor Clark is a Junior at Utica Academy For International Studies. She hopes her class project will save lives. Her project is called "Fashion With A Passion."
"I designed a purse in cooperation with my cousin Jenna Kator, who is a handbag designer in Detroit," said Clark. I feel very connected to the Gift Of Life Foundation since my Aunt was a Donor and my dad was a recipient. So we worked together to design this handbag and all the profits from the handbags go to the Gift Of Life Foundation."
Clark tells WWJ that her project started as a class assignment, but has grown much bigger than that.
"You have to do 150 hours of action, creativity and service, and you have to do an extended project. And this is what I wanted to to combine by creativity and service together. And for my action, I'm actually an All-State Golfer. So that's what I'm doing for my action. I really wanted to take all the areas of my life and combine them. "
The bags sell for $45. Taylor's project is featured in Style Line Magazine.
