Law Firm Sponsors Export Program Info Event: The State of Michigan is encouraging exporting and has programs in place to help Michigan businesses. Are you eligible? What is the application process? What are the benefits? Is funding available? Are there deadlines? What are the success stories? Please join the law firm Clayton & McKervey P.C. on Tuesday, Aug. 21, as Jeanne Broad, a Michigan Economic Development Corp. International Trade Development Officer, discusses the State Trade and Export Promotion (STEP) program and other state export initiatives, including Export Now. STEP provides direct reimbursement to qualified small and medium-sized export companies to develop or expand export-related activities. Export Now provides Michigan businesses with a one-stop online solution to sell consumer goods in China. Broad will also provide information on the MEDC's ability and available funding to customize trade missions to the following markets: Brazil, Colombia, Chile, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Dubai, Qatar, Turkey, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, and Japan. The event begins at 7:30 a.m. with registration and continental breakfast, with the program running from 8 to 9 a.m., at Clayton & McKervey's office at  - 2000 Town Center, Suite 1800, Southfield. TiE Seeks Young Entrepreneurs: TiE, the entrepreneurial organization, will hold an organizational meeting of its TiE Young Entrepreneurs organization for students and parents on Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 5:30 p.m. in Room M218 of the Buell Management Building at Lawrence Technological University, 21000 W. 10 Mile Road in Southfield. The meeting will be followed by a session at 6:30 p.m. seeking volunteers for the TiECon Midwest event in October. Food and drinks will be provided.
