Emergency Alert System To Conduct National Test Wednesday

LIVONIA -- The first nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System will occur Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. Eastern time. The purpose of the test is to assess the readiness and effectiveness of the current system and identify improvements to better serve the American public.

The nationwide EAS Test will be conducted jointly by the United States Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Federal Communications Commission, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Weather Service. The test will last for approximately three minutes.

Bright House Networks has informed its customers in all of its markets that this alert will take place via email and bill statement communications.
