DSO, Striking Musicians Talking Again

A joint statement by the musicians of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and DSO management says the two sides have entered into "informal negotiations."

The statement says the goal is to bring about an end to the month-long work stoppage that has delayed the start of the 2010-11 concert season.

The two sides have agreed to a news blackout, so no other information will be available until further notice.

Musicians cancelled a plan to picket Friday night's Dee Dee Bridgewater concert at Orchestra Hall.

Musicians walked out October fourth in a dispute over the size of pay concessions DSO management says are needed to cope with a budget shortfall.
