Detroit Seeks Election Workers
With the November 2nd elections just over a month away, the Detroit Department of Elections is looking for workers to work the polling precincts.
The city clerk's office says pollworkers will be paid $150 per election day based on classification and assignment.
An applicant must be:
--At least 16 years of age or older (18 and over must be registered)
--A United States Citizen
--Proficient in basic math and English
--A Detroit resident
People who are interested in working need to go to the Detroit Department of Elections at 2978 West Grand Blvd. to complete an application and other basic requirements. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Training is mandatory for newly hired pollworkers.
