Detroit Regional Chamber Releases 'To-Do List' Following Mackinac Policy Conference
MACKINAC ISLAND - The Detroit Regional Chamber has unveiled its 2016 Mackinac Policy Conference To-Do List following three days of discussions featuring top state, regional and national thought leaders.
Governor Rick Snyder, Conference Chair Dennis Archer Jr., president of Archer Corporate Services, and Chamber President and CEO Sandy K. Baruah announced the list of items at the conclusion of the annual Conference.
"The Mackinac Policy Conference is Michigan's premier policy event. While we don't make policy, we bring together statewide leadership to have honest and engaging conversations on the critical issues facing our state. The To-Do List is emerging as a substantive impactful tradition of its own, challenging us to find new creative ways to put actions to our words," Baruah said.
The 2016 Mackinac Policy Conference To-Do List is:
- Support the establishment of the American Center for Mobility at Willow Run.
- Help the state of Michigan develop and execute a strategy to protect and grow our valuable defense assets.
- Continue to support an economically inclusive Detroit by promoting education access, options, and attainment as well as to continue to promote financial literacy.
- Advocate for robust infrastructure investment in our basic utilities and assets.
The 2017 Mackinac Policy Conference will be held Tuesday, May 30 through Friday, June 2.
