Detroit Man Charged With Murder In Speed Dispute

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - A motorist accused of gunning down another man after he was warned to slow down in a Detroit neighborhood has been charged with first-degree murder.

The shooting happened at around 8 p.m. Monday in the 13000 block of Braile, near Schoolcraft and I-96 on the city's west side.

According to police, 32-year-old Thyrone Evans shot 23-year-old Cleveland Dunklin from his SUV about an hour after Dunklin yelled at him to slow down in an area where kids were playing.

Dunklin was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office says Evans was arraigned Friday in Detroit's 36th District Court.

He was denied bail. It's not known if he has an attorney yet.

Evans' next court hearing is Oct. 8.
