Detroit "Biggest Loser" Shares Secrets Of Success
DETROIT (WWJ) What's the secret to losing weight, and keeping it off? Former "Biggest Loser " contestant Pete Thomas -- who's just written a new book called "Lose It fast, Lose it Forever" -- says there really is no secret.
"Most people who look to lose weight, I tell them they've got two choices, you can either lose it fast or lose or lost it forever," Thomas, 44, said.
He said the key to losing it forever is as simple as forming healthy new habits and sticking with them.
His weight maintenance fundamentals include working out every day, planning meals ahead, keeping junk out of the house and following a sensible diet that allows an occasional cheat.
Want to learn more? Thomas -- who once weighed 415 pounds -- and has maintained his 185 pound weight loss since 2005, will be signing copies of his new book "Lose It Fast, Lose It Forever," at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Barnes and Noble store in Ann Arbor.
Since 'The Biggest Loser," Pete has appeared on ABC's "The View," "The 700 Club," and "Xtra," and has been featured in People Magazine, Runners World, TV Guide, inTouch Weekly and Real Health. In addition, Thomas has completed a full triathlon, full marathon and several half-marathons since his time on "The Biggest Loser."
"Being on The Biggest Loser really saved my life," Thomas said on his website.
