Deer Archery Season Begins
It's a sure sign of fall in Michigan - the arrival of deer archery season.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment reminds hunters that the season opens statewide Friday. It runs until Nov. 14, then reopens after firearm deer season for late archery hunting from Dec. 1 to Jan. 1.
An archery license, combination license regular tag or combination license-restricted tag can be used to harvest an anterless deer or a buck. Anterless-only licenses also are valid during archery season.
In August, the Natural Resources Commission voted to allow all legal hunters at least 10 years old to use crossbows statewide.
