My good friend Dennis Fithian released his bowl season selections feeling confident in his wisdom so we thought there would be no better way than for us to battle it out "Gangnum Style" as we get ready for one of the best times of the year. The winner will be crowned the First Annual DTM/Dennis Bowl Madness Champion, receive a trophy made of nothing but gumdrops and skittles, and most importantly year-long bragging rights. The loser will graciously donate to The Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund. This is going to be #EPIC.
Saturday, December 15th
New Mexico Bowl
Nevada vs. Arizona: Arizona-As much as it pains me too say this ,Rich Rod had a pretty good first year with the Cats with wins over Ok State and USC, and will end it on a high note.
Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
Toledo vs. Utah State: Utah State
Thursday, December 20th
Poinsettia Bowl
BYU vs. San Diego State: SD State
Friday, December 21st
St. Petersburg Bowl
Ball State vs. UCF: UCF- The Knights have a good QB in Blake Bortles and a defense ranked in the top 30 in the FBS.
Saturday, December 22nd
New Orleans Bowl
E. Carolina vs. Louisiana-Lafayette: UL-L
Las Vegas Bowl
Washington vs. Boise State: Washington- Huskies will win this game with a great defensive performance.
Monday, December 24th
Hawaii Bowl
Fresno State vs. SMU: Fresno State
Wednesday, December 26th
Little Caesars Pizza Bowl
Western Kentucky vs. Central Michigan: WKU (sorry Chips fans) - The Hilltoppers are balanced on both sides of the ball and will overpower CMU.
Thursday, December 27th
Military Bowl
San Jose State vs. Bowling Green: San Jose State
Belk Bowl
Cincinnati vs. Duke: Cincinnati
Holiday Bowl
Baylor vs. UCLA: Baylor- This is always a great bowl game and this year will be no different. Both teams come in with confidence, but the Baylor RB tandem of Glasco "Scotland" Martin and Lache Seastrunk will be too much.
Friday, December 28th
Independence Bowl
Ohio vs. Louisiana-Monroe: UL-Monroe
Russell Athletic Bowl
Rutgers vs. Virginia Tech: Rutgers-The Scarlett Knights will expose the most overrated team in the nation yet again.
Meinke Care Care of Texas Bowl
Minnesota vs. Texas Tech: Texas Tech- Tech has coaching questions but way too much offense for the Gophers to handle.
Saturday, December 29th
Armed Forces Bowl
Rice vs. Air Force: Air Force-This is going to be a total run fest with the Falcons better offensive line being the difference.
New Era Pinstripe Bowl
West Virginia vs. Syracuse: WVU-Geno Smith goes out in a big way, even though his team gave up on playing defense during training camp.
Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl
Navy vs. Arizona State: Arizona State
Valero Alamo Bowl
Texas vs. Oregon State: Oregon State-Never bet against a Beaver around X-Mas time.
Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl
TCU vs. Michigan State: TCU-Even if the Spartans somehow get their offense going they will still be outscored by 25.
Monday, December 31st
Music City Bowl
North Carolina State vs. Vanderbilt: NC State
Sun Bowl
USC vs. Georgia Tech: USC- Against many other teams I would have gone against the lackluster Trojans, but Ga Tech's lack of firepower makes this an easy win for Southern Cal.
Liberty Bowl
Iowa State vs. Tulsa: Iowa State- Cyclones quietly were one of the most underrated teams this season and have an offense that can score quickly as well as wear you down.
Chick-fil-A Bowl
LSU vs. Clemson: LSU- Les will have his D ready for Clemson's stud QB Tajh Boyd and will have Tigers fans wondering what if.....they didn't hand the game to Bama.
Tuesday, January 1st
Gator Bowl
Mississippi State vs. Northwestern: NW- If you like offense then this is your game. I would not be surprised if both teams scored over 40 a piece.
Heart of Dallas Bowl
Purdue vs. Oklahoma State: Oklahoma State
Capitol One Bowl
Georgia vs. Nebraska: Georgia-Nebraska has talent, but the obliteration by Wisky in the Big14 title game will be hard to get out of their minds. UGA QB Aaron Murray is going to have a huge day.
Outback Bowl
South Carolina vs. Michigan: Michigan
Rose Bowl
Wisconsin vs. Stanford: Stanford-Stanford coach David Shaw has fast become one of the best in the game and as great as the Badgers looked against Nebraska, they will struggle mightily against the balanced attack of the Trees.
Orange Bowl
N. Illinois vs. Florida State: Florida State-If I were getting points I'd take the Huskies as I think they will come in wanting to prove they belong and they can move the ball. In the end though FSU just has way too much depth and talent to lose this one.
Wednesday, January 2nd
Sugar Bowl
Louisville vs. Florida: Louisville- Florida is a very good team and only lost to Georgia this season, but really struggled down the stretch, including a miracle win in the final seconds over Louisiana Lafayette. Louisville QB Teddy Bridge "Over Troubled" Water is special and the Cardinals will just want this game more than Gators.
Thursday, January 3rd
Fiesta Bowl
Oregon vs. Kansas State: Oregon- This could be one of the best games of bowl season and should come down to the final possession.
Friday, January 4th
Cotton Bowl
Texas A&M vs. Oklahoma: Texas A&M- Newly minted Heisman winner Johnny Football will torch a very weak Sooners secondary and ride into the sunset with his absurdly hot girlfriend.
Saturday, January 5th
Compass Bowl
Pitt vs. Ole Miss: Pitt
Sunday, January 6th
GoDaddy.com Bowl
Kent State v Arkansas State: Kent State- Kent State could have been playing in the BCS and will show the country or at least the 240,000 watching the Go Daddy.com bowl that they were good enough to.
Monday, January 7th
BCS Title Game
ND vs. Alabama: Notre Dame (yes I did that!) The Bama run seemed to be over at the hands of the Aggies and Johnny football, but of course they found their way back and are a truly impressive team. That being said this is a destiny-type-of-year and the Irish will send shockwaves through the college football world winning one of the better title games in recent memory.
Score: ND 28 Bama 24
