India is now battling the worst covid surge the world has seen to date. Over the weekend, India reported more than 400,000 new cases of covid, the worst for any country since this global pandemic began. To date, less than 2% of the country's 940 million residents have been vaccinated. Their healthcare system has completely broken down in the wake of the unprecedented disease burden. And now there is a national shortage of oxygen one of the most basic necessities for patients fighting Covid-19.
