Crash, Corn Syrup Spill Close Michigan Roadway

CARO (AP) - Authorities in Michigan dealt with a sticky situation following a crash on a roadway.

WSGW-AM reports a road in Tuscola County south of Caro was closed for a few hours Tuesday morning after a tractor-trailer hauling corn syrup spilled its cargo following a collision with a car.

The Flint Journal reports nearly 6,000 gallons of corn syrup went onto the road and into a nearby ditch.

The sheriff's department says the truck had stopped for a school bus that was loading children before it was rear-ended.

No serious injuries were reported. The roadway about 80 miles north of Detroit was reopened after crews cleaned up.
