Commercial Building In Warren Goes Up In Flames
WARREN (WWJ) - An early-morning fire at a commercial building on 9 Mile Road in Warren, where the smoke could be smelled all the way up to the I-696 Freeway.
WWJ's Ron Dewey, reporting live from the scene, says the fire took off around 3:30 Tuesday morning in an auto repair shop. From what Ron understood, the fire also took out a utility pole. DTE Energy was also on the scene trying to rectify the situation.
At the time of Ron's report at 5:00 a.m., the fire was out , but 9 Mile was closed in both directions. A pair of ladder trucks were towering over the building, taking care of any hot spots. The building was not occupied at the time, and there were no reports of any injuries.
No immediate word on the origin or the cause of the fire.
