Challenge Detroit Candidates Up For Online Vote
DETROIT -- The folks behind Challenge Detroit, the online effort to bring 30 talented entrepreneurs to Detroit to live, work, play and give in the city, need your help to pick about 60 finalists.
Challenge Detroit received more than 900 applications from talented individuals throughout the world, who want to live, work, play and give through Challenge Detroit. The contest organizers have already picked 100 semifinalists. Now, they want the public to whittle that down to about 60.
Community voting has gone viral -- Challenge Detroit's Facebook followers increased from 750 to over 8,000 last weekend -- and is open through this Friday, April 13.
Please visit Challenge Detroit's Facebook page (from your computer, not your mobile device), check out the applicants, and vote for your favorites. That page is https://www.facebook.com/challenge%20detroit#!/challengedetroit.
Those 60 individuals will visit Detroit May 3 and 4 to interview with Challenge Detroit's host companies and experience the city. From there, organizers will select the 30 inaugural Challenge Detroit participants.
Challenge Detroit is an initiative of The Collaborative Group targeted at attracting and retaining young talent to Detroit in an effort to develop and rejuvenate the city's core and continue to grow an attractive, urban center that will strengthen the surrounding region.
