Campus Computer Manager Threatens Elementary School Online
DETROIT (AP) - A man has been charged with posting an online threat against an elementary school from his computer at the University of Detroit Mercy.
Alex Boyar was a campus computer network manager. On Jan. 8, the FBI says he threatened to blow up Thornton Creek Elementary School in Novi unless a math test was canceled.
The FBI says Boyar's comment was posted at the bottom of an online news story about an earlier lockdown at the school. Novi police traced the threat to Boyar, who admitted he wrote it.
The Belleville resident said he was joking and had no plans for violence. As a result, he's out of a job at U of D Mercy.
