Bright House Networks Adds TV One
DETROIT -- Bright House Networks announced the addition of TV One, the real-life and entertainment network targeting African American adults, to its digital tier on Channel 147 and in HD on channel 347.
TV One, www.tvone.tv, is a 24-hour real-life and entertainment network designed to entertain, inform and inspire a diverse audience of African American adults. TV One encompasses the rich diversity of black life in America offering powerful storytelling, popular sitcoms, critically acclaimed dramas, hit movies, and a unique array of originals.
TV One's programming includes a combination of classic comedy series such as Martin, Good Times, Living Single, and The Jeffersons; top-notch recent and classic movies; and original real-life and entertainment programming designed to showcase a broad range of African American cultural traditions, issues and new trends.
TV One's original programming includes the acclaimed music bio series Unsung, which celebrates the lives and careers of successful artists or groups who have been under-recognized, as well as the "buzzed about" docu-series Life After, which explores intriguing celebrities from the perspective of the turning points that have forever changed their lives.
Original programming also includes R&B Divas, Save My Son, The Rickey Smiley Show, Parole Diaries, Celebrity Crime Files, TV One on One with Cathy Hughes, and the hour-long Sunday morning public affairs series Washington Watch with Roland Martin. The network also offers high-impact specials, like the top-rated TV One Night Only: Live From the Essence Music Festival, and the prestigious Trumpet Awards, which honors African American achievement, and Belles, a new comedy series which premieres Feb. 1.
Bright House Networks is the sixth largest owner and operator of cable systems in the United States. In southeast Michigan, it serves Farmington, Farmington Hills, Livonia, Novi, Northville and Redford Township.
