Bonal Profits Rise Even With Revenue Fall

Royal Oak-based Bonal International Inc. (OTC: BONL) Monday announced net income of $110,858 or 6 cents a share in its second fiscal quarter ended Sept. 30, up 65 percent from $67,051 or 4 cents a share a year earlier.

Second quarter revenue was $542,985, down 2 percent from $555,613 a year earlier.

For the year to date, net income was $234,818 or 13 cents a share, up from $26,200 or 2 cents a share a year earlier.

Revenue for the six months was $1.07 mllion, up 18 percent from $907,440 a year earlier.

"In this quarter we saw the aerospace and defense industries take the lead in our sales activity," said Thomas E. Hebel, interim president and CEO of Bonal Technologies. "The driving force was that they wanted to achieve the same high quality stress relief as what they were used to, but accomplish it faster. They realized that using our patented Meta-Lax technology and equipment will become a real asset to their company's future efficiency and profits. We saw the sales of both of our all new touch-screen stress relief models really take off. We are very encouraged with the market reception of these two systems which accounted for more than half of our sales volume."
