Mario's opened in Detroit in 1948, and since then has been known as one of the best places for Italian food in the city. It likes to keep an "old school" feel, and it offers ballroom dancing (weekends only), valet service, tableside cooking and shuttles to some of the city's theater venues. Mario's steak menu is extensive, and it runs the gamut from your traditional filet mignon ($35-$41, depending on size) to its porterhouse steak, to its most famous entree, the steak Diane (NY sirloin, "flamed in cognac") which is prepared tableside and priced per person. If dinner at Mario's is out of your budget, check out the restaurant for lunch instead; it offers a chopped sirloin steak for $12.99 on Wednesdays only.

The Chop House is Ann Arbor's go-to steakhouse when you're looking for something tasty, and it's attached to La Dolce Vita, which has fantastic desserts. Its atmosphere is perfect for date night - dimly lit and romantic - and its steaks are USDA Prime (only 2 percent of all beef raised has this distinction) and aged 28-34 days. Try the 8 oz. filet mignon if you have a small appetite, or the 20-22 oz. cowboy steak if you're looking for a more filling meal. All fresh vegetables, potatoes and add-ons are a la carte. If you decide to partake in La Dolce Vita's desserts, you can either continue dining at your table, or your server will reserve a table for you next door. LDV has more of a "lounge" feel, which is also nice.
