This place is special for the fun atmosphere. Opened in 1933 by Karl Kurz and handed down to his grandson Karl E. Kurz it's one of the local favorite German restaurants in Detroit. Be prepared to sing-along to some classic songs like the Schnitzelbank song. Don't worry if you don't know the words. They're up on the wall karaoke style. Try the cheese and sausage board, potato pancakes and the sauerkraut combo plate! Can somebody tell me what a schnitzelbank is?

Want to drink in a basement? Trust me, that's not a knock on one of the best bars in Ann Arbor. Heidelberg has stood the test of time, and The Rathskellar downstairs is a great place to meet and mingle. The Alpine Dining Room is top notch, though most of my time has been spent trying to empty the boot downstairs.
