Best Creme Brulee In Detroit

Creme brulee is a delicious treat, and it's not uncommon to find it on the dessert menu at most restaurants. However, which are the best restaurants at which to order it? Check out this list for the best in Detroit and its neighboring areas.
Centaur Bar
2233 Park Ave.
Detroit, MI 48201
(313) 963-4040

The Centaur Bar is located in downtown Detroit, right behind the Fox Theatre. The creme brulee ($7) selection changes daily, and the sugary crust has just the right amount of thickness. If you visit the restaurant during happy hour (Monday through Friday, 4 to 7 p.m.), the creme brulee is also a part of its happy hour menu, and you can purchase it for half-price with any beverage purchase; the bar also has a full food and drink menu during happy hour. If you're looking for some wine to go with your creme brulee, Centaur Bar also offers half off bottles and glasses on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

La Dolce Vita
322 S. Main St.
Ann Arbor, MI 48104
(888) 456-3463

La Dolce Vita is the sister restaurant to The Chop House, and it is a nice lounge where you can relax after dinner next door. Or maybe you could skip the dinner and go straight to dessert. The vanilla bean creme brulee ($9.95) includes "creamy vanilla bean custard topped with a caramelized sugar crust, served with seasonal fresh fruits and berries." La Dolce Vita has a very intimate atmosphere and would be great for date night, or even girls night out.

TV's Deli And Diner
2441 Fort St.
Trenton, MI 48183
(734) 671-9005

Tracey and Victor's Deli-Diner, aka TV's Deli and Diner, was opened in September 1995 by Tracey Wipp and Victor Stroia. The two of them formerly worked for the same restaurateur, and between the two of them, they have over 30 years of restaurant/catering experience. They have won many awards for their soups, Reuben sandwiches and also their catering business. TV's Deli and Diner has something unique: a creme brulee waffle, where the waffle pockets are filled with cream mixture. The waffle is then torched for a crispy layer of sugar and served with a scoop of ice cream.

The Rattlesnake Club
300 River Place Drive
Detroit, MI 48207
(313) 567-4400

If you're looking for a unique take on creme brulee, check out The Rattlesnake Club, located downtown by the Detroit River. The spiced maple creme brulee comes in the form of a pyramid, with a burnt turbinado crust, and it's definitely a different type of creme brulee, in both shape and taste. Parking is available nearby for a fee, and the restaurant also offers a happy hour menu (appetizers and drinks in the bar area only) from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays.

MotorCity Casino Hotel
2901 Grand River Ave.
Detroit, MI 48218
(877) 777-0711

Iridescence is the place to go if you're going out for a special occasion or if you've got a fairly flexible budget. The restaurant is the crown jewel of MotorCity Casino, and it has great views of the city to boot. Its creme brulee is served with fresh fruits on top and has a chocolate layer on the bottom, which is unusual compared to other restaurants. The restaurant itself is beautiful too and would be a great place to stop by for dessert when in the area.
