If you want to be downtown, this is the perfect place. This brewery is near Comerica Park, the Detroit Opera House and Ford Field. Sit on the first or second floor of this building for a unique dining experience. The first floor is where you can see the process of the brewing. The second floor gives a feel of the city. The beer to try is People Mover Porter, or enjoy whatever beer is on tap. Make sure to grab food; their pizzas are delicious, as well as the appetizers and pasta dishes.

his is the oldest operating brewery in Detroit. Since 1994, the employees at Motor City Brewing Works have hand-crafted their beer. With several styles of tastes: ciders, IPA, ales, stouts, etc. there are plenty of beers to go around for everyone. The beer to try is Honey Porter. Sit inside and enjoy the spaciousness and smell the brewery, or sit outside on the patio to people-watch, or go to the roof-top patio and enjoy looking over the city. Atwater Brewery honors the brewing history. This brewery opened in 1997. When it opened, the owners brought the brewing process with them. Atwater Brewery uses true heritage-style lagers. They follow a brewing process that is over 200 years old. All of their main brewing equipment is from Germany. The beer to try Shaman's Porter. They also brew a Dirty Blonde, Vanilla Java Porter, Decedent Dark Chocolate Ale, Summer Time Ale, Cherry Stout, Blueberry Cobbler Ale, and much more. Stop in and have a beer.

This is one of the newest breweries in Detroit, but it is also one of the hippest places to be. If you care about giving back to the community, buy a beer. Every month, this brewery makes a new beer for a charity or nonprofit they partner with. So every pint you buy, $2 goes to the non-profit being sponsored that month. The beer to try is Batch Unrequited. Other beers to enjoy: Batch A Man In A Loin Cloth, Batch Diskmasher, Batch Holy Dask, Batch Mango Island, and Batch The Audacity.

Falling Down Beer Company has been open since 2013. They always keep at least eight beers on tap. What makes this brewery a unique experience is how much they experiment with their beer. Always rotating flavors, they want to please their customers with only the best tasting beers. Sometimes it's a new flavor, and sometimes they bring back popular flavors by demand. The beer to try is Belgian Dark Strong. Stop in or call to see the specific beers on tap. And while you're there, enjoy an appetizer, too. The mozzarella wedges are delicious.

The Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales brewery is one of the happiest breweries around. Open since 2004, the owners are proud of their complex flavors with simplistic ingredients. Only quality artisan beers are served. This brewery is about having fun and being a little different from other places. This brewery is spacious, well-lit, and has a great atmosphere. The beer to try is Fuego del Otono. Enjoy their nachos, salads, sandwiches, and pizza. While eating, enjoy a beer: Calabaza Blanca, Maracaibo Especial, and La Roja, Bam Noire.
