Best College Basketball Bars In Detroit

It's that time of year again when college basketball enthusiasts clutch their brackets and huddle around TVs anxiously waiting to catch some hoops. Those with a passion for college basketball should check out these destinations.

Hours: Mon to Tues - 4 p.m.-2 a.m.; Wed to Sat - 11 a.m.- 2 a.m.; Sun - 12 p.m.-12 a.m.

24 Seconds promotes itself with the slogan "This is how sports was meant to be viewed" and 24 Seconds in Berkley lives up to its reputation. The bar is built around broadcasting sporting events with 20 big screen plasma televisions, so you won't miss a second of the college basketball action. It is housed in one main room with its center bar as the focal point. 24 Seconds runs drink daily drink specials making the establishment a great spot to enjoy a cold
beverage and cheer for your favorite team.

Hours: Daily - 11 a.m - 2 p.m.

Don't be fooled by the name. Despite being owned by former Detroit Red Wings Defenseman Chris Chelios, these popular sports bars provide the perfect atmosphere to catch a basketball game. You can enjoy the classic pub atmosphere and the sports memorabilia displayed throughout the locations.  There is also a second location in Dearborn, both bars features a wide array of flat screen TVs and both have rooftop decks so you can soak in the city while enjoying the game.

The Park Bar is known for its lively atmosphere and social scene, whether you want to just hang out pick up some basketball tips. Its location around the corner from Comerica Park and Ford Field make it a regular stop for sports fans and a great place to watch a game. Friendly staff and a decent selection of local beer and wines also draw the crowds. It is connected to the Bucharest Grill, so you can grab a meal and then go over for a pint to watch some hoops at The Park Bar.

The Library Sports Pub and Grills are two great locations for college basketball fans, the second located in Novi. The family-owned and operated establishments showcase a number of sporting events throughout the year and its numerous televisions scattered throughout the bars provide a chance for everyone to keep up with all of the games. Various television sports packages are featured along with daily drink and food specials. Those looking for music will also be happy as both locations have jukeboxes, karaoke and live entertainment.

The Sports Brew Pub is Wyandotte's only area brewery with new beers every month. Its family-friendly and laid back atmosphere make it a stop that everyone can enjoy. The establishment serves as a restaurant, sports pub, nightclub and game room all rolled into one with a 50s flare. The bar features classic American food and plenty of live music and dancing.  With more than 25 televisions, everyone can come out and cheer for their favorite basketball team.
