April is National B.L.T. Month, so there's no time like the present to find a yummy B.L.T. sandwich to eat. Here are the best in the metro Detroit area.
Ale Mary's Beer Hall

Royal Oak, MI 48067

Ale Mary's was voted as one of the Top 10 New Restaurants by the Detroit Free Press this year, and there's a good reason for that. Ale Mary's has fantastic food as well as an extensive selection of beer and other libations. Its B.E.L.T. sandwich ($10) includes brioche, a sunny-side egg (hence the "E"), spring mix, applewood bacon, aged white cheddar cheese, and a roasted tomato, and is served with beer-battered fries. Make sure to take a look at Ale Mary's beer menu, too, as they have many drinks on tap.

Blue Goose Inn
28911 Jefferson Ave.
St. Clair Shores, MI 48081
(586) 294-0690

The Blue Goose Inn has an interesting story behind its name, or at least some theories. One theory behind the name is that the original building was moved from Harsens Island, and was part of the Blue Goose Hotel on the island. The current restaurant has been in the same location since at least 1910, when it was a saloon and grocery. After Prohibition ended, it claimed the name Blue Goose Inn. Its B.L.T. sandwich ($5.99), served on toasted bread is popular. Add fries for $1.79 or onion rings for $2.99.

Red Brick Kitchen & Bar
8093 Main St.
Dexter, MI 48130
(734) 424-0420

The Red Brick Kitchen & Bar is located in Dexter, a short drive from Ann Arbor, and has an interesting take on a B.L.T. The $9 sandwich includes bacon with fresh avocado, mozzarella, tomato, and fresh basil, all on toasted ciabatta bread. The B.L.T. comes with Brick fries or chips, or you can substitute a side salad, onion rings, soup, or veggies for an additional charge. Red Brick prides itself on its "gastropub-style menu" as well as its homemade desserts, full bar, and exposed brick walls (hence the restaurant's name).
