Best All-Day Breakfast Restaurants In Detroit

So it's 5 p.m. one day, and you want breakfast. Where can you go that serves breakfast all day long? Check this list for the best all-day breakfast restaurants in Detroit and the metro area.
Fleetwood Diner
300 S. Ashley St.
Ann Arbor, MI 48104
(734) 995-5502

It's the Fleetwood Diner, and it's an Ann Arbor institution. What more do you need to know? The dish that it's the most well-known for is the Hippie Hash, which is described by the Fleetwood as "the bottom layer is a generous portion of our homemade hash browns. Next, we top the hash browns with grilled green peppers, onions, tomatoes, broccoli & mushrooms. Then the entire thing gets topped with feta cheese to make a melty, delicious hash like none you've ever experienced." If hash browns aren't your thing, the menu also includes omelets, eggs, corned beef hash and sandwiches. The Fleetwood Diner is also one of the only restaurants in Ann Arbor that's open 24/7 — so whether you want breakfast at 2 a.m. or 6 p.m., the diner is always open.

The Hudson Cafe
1241 Woodward Ave.
Detroit, MI 48226
(313) 237-1000

Although the Hudson Cafe is only open 8 - 3 p.m. (Monday to Thursday) and 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. (Friday and Saturday), it serves breakfast all day, and is in fact known for its breakfast menu. You can find the cafe on Woodward near Grand River and Gratiot, and its menu includes specialty omelettes, French toast, pancakes, waffles, as well as crepes. Try the Chicken Pomodoro omelette (chicken, tomato, basil, onion, mozzarella and parmesan) or the Graham Cracker Crusted French toast with cream cheese drizzle; if you're more of a sandwich person, the Hudson Cafe has those as well (try the Chipotle Chicken or perhaps the Woodward Burger, which includes 8 oz. of meat, chipotle mayo, lettuce/tomato, and a cheddar/jack cheese blend).

The Fly Trap
22950 Woodward Ave.
Ferndale, MI 48220
(248) 399-5150

If you're in the Ferndale area and the craving for breakfast foods strikes, check out the Fly Trap, located on Woodward near 9 Mile. The restaurant is closed on Mondays, and open 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Fly Trap calls its menu "blunch" (breakfast/lunch) and all items on it are available at any time. Check out its B.L.A.T.+C (an omelette "stuffed with pepper bacon, spinach, avocado, tomato, and cheddar") or perhaps the Gingerbread Waffle, which comes with sauteed apples, cherries and cinnamon syrup, if you have more of a sweet tooth. The restaurant also serves sandwiches and some Thai and Italian-inspired dishes such as a lemongrass faux bowl (lemongrass and Thai chili-infused broth) and the Sean's Mushroom Fettuccine Bomb.

Stuffed Bun
603 E. Walton Blvd.
Pontiac, MI 48340
(248) 373-2840

The Stuffed Bun has its name for a reason: its "stuffed omelettes" make up a good part of the menu. The restaurant is open 6 a.m. - 3 p.m. every day, and serves breakfast all day long. Try the Original Tina's omelette (four eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, hash browns, green peppers, onions, tomatoes and cheese) or the Coney (two eggs, two oz. American cheese, onions, and a hot dog smothered with chili); the restaurant also has egg combos. Make sure to bring cash as well, because the Stuffed Bun does not accept credit cards.

The Pantry Restaurant
34220 Van Dyke Road
Sterling Heights, MI 48312
(586) 939-1370

You can find The Pantry in Sterling Heights (see above), Clinton Township and Washington Township, and it's open 6 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily at all of its locations. They have a Dutch Baby (similar to Original Pancake House's) which is one of its specialties, as well as all sorts of pancakes (apple, pineapple, German, banana nut surprise), French Toast, including honey roll French toast, and three-egg omelettes. There's also Belgian waffles, crepes and homemade soups and sandwiches. Both the Dutch Baby and the German Pancake are served with lemon and powdered sugar, and all egg combos are served with extra large grade AA eggs, toast and choice of either three buttermilk pancakes or potatoes.
