Auto Show Gives Attendees Preview Of Detroit Grand Prix (Video)

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) - The green flag won't drop on the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix for another four months, but attendees of the North American International Auto Show are getting a sneak peek of the race.
As auto show attendees enter Cobo Center, they will see the Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas display which features a cardboard cutout of IndyCar driver Helio Castroneves, his No. 3 race car, a mock-up of the winner's circle and race information.
Inside the convention hall, racing fans will find IndyCar champion Will Power's NO. 12 race car on display at the Verizon exhibit. And 2014 Indianapolis 500 winner Ryan Hunter-Reay's No. 28 race car can be found at the Honda display.
"I'm looking very forward to the upcoming season. It couldn't come soon enough," said Power, during a recent visit to the auto show. "It's been such a long off-season but enjoyable because I was the champion."
Power won the first of the two races in Detroit in 2014. In the second race, his teammate Helio Castroneves took the checkered flag.
The chance to win both races has Power itching to get back in the car take to the track May 30-31 for the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit presented by Quicken Loans.
"I can't wait to come back here and try to win both races," Power said. "It's one of our favorite street courses to come to ... cool city and very nice on Belle Isle."
Last year Power won three races, finished in the top-five eight times and claimed four Verizon P1 Pole Awards. And he is ready for the competition in 2015.
"I hope I have a target on my back," Power said. "Tough competition just means you're way more satisfied when you win."
