Allen Park City Administrator Resigns

DETROIT(WWJ) - The financial and political scene in Allen Park changes by the minute.

The city has a one-million dollar shortfall, due in part to falling property values, and unpaid emergency medical service bills to the city.

After an emergency meeting Sunday afternoon, the city
administrator submitted his resignation. Eric Waidelich offered his resignation, effective March 11th.

Last Tuesday, City Council voted to issue pink slips to members of the fire department. The announcement angered residents and union members.

The city's 2010-2011 budget was originally projected to break even, with $21 million in revenue to cover $20.7 million in expenses.
