3 Birmingham Schools Put On Lockdown Due To Police Situation

BIRMINGHAM (WWJ) - Three schools in Birmingham were put on a brief lockdown, Tuesday afternoon.

The school district sent a message saying Pierce, Greenfield, and Beverly elementary schools were on lockdown because of a police situation.

Officials stressed that was only a precautionary measure. The lockdown was lifted before 2:30 p.m.

There were no details immediately available about the police situation.

No injuries have been reported.
