MONROE (WWJ) - Authorities in Monroe are actively searching for a suspect who shot another man early Saturday morning.

Monroe Police say they were called to a location on Peters Street just after midnight, where they found a 26-year-old black male who had suffered a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The man was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center where he was last listed in stable condition.

Police say the gunman remains at large, although they did not release details about the suspect.
