You may not have spent much time in Louisville but this small Boulder County town is a growing community with a lot of culture and many fantastic culinary options. This wonderful city has ranked in the top places to live in the country by Money Magazine several times. A trip to Louisville is only a short 35-minute drive from Denver, so you can even make it a drive for just one meal to check out any of these wonderful restaurants. Whether you are stopping in the city on your way to Boulder, or you are looking for some new places to eat, here are a few great dining options in Louisville.

If you are seeking authentic Thai food, then a trip to Busaba in Louisville is worth your time. This lovely Thai restaurant features a large menu with many different Thai favorites. Of course, all of the classics are there like Pad Thai and several different curries. You can also pick your own protein with the different curries offered, making this a great choice for vegetarians as well. There is a large patio, perfect for a summer evening and a full bar with great options for a cocktail or two. You'll also find lots of gluten-free options for anyone with a gluten intolerance which can be a rare treat in an Italian restaurant. Take a seat at the bar to check out the live TV monitor to watch the chefs creating their masterpieces in the kitchen. You'll get some delicious crunchy bread with garlic olive oil to start and then take in the fresh pasta dishes and classic Italian options. The Four Cheese Gnocchi is rich and decadently cheesy, the Shrimp Scampi has just the right amount of butter and garlic and everything with the fresh homemade mozzarella is delicious. Grab some traditional down home-style Texas barbecue at Lulu's in Louisville's cozy downtown area. You'll find lots of classic barbecue recipes, all cooked on a low heat for up to 12 hours with oak wood to give them that great smoky flavor. One caution though, since everything takes so long to prepare, Lulu's can run out of some menu options, so show up early to get your favorite dish. All of your barbecue favorites are here like smoked sausage, beef brisket, pulled pork and fall-off-the-bone ribs. Everything is sweet and smoky and the perfect way to enjoy a warm summer evening with the family. As far as side dishes go, you can't beat the sweet potato cheese tots or the fried pickle chips for a fantastic accompaniment to your main course. If you have some room left over, Lulu's also serves up classic Blue Bell ice cream for a sweet treat after your meal.

It's a little surprising to find such a great Tibetan restaurant in Louisville but this restaurant is that perfect surprise for an exotic and delicious dinner out. If you don't know where to start or if you have never sampled this type of cuisine before, then go for the lunch or dinner buffet. You can take smaller samples of all of the dishes to get a taste of each different flavor. Try the different masalas and samosas, enjoy some saag and lentil soup. Be sure to take in all of the décor as well, as the restaurant has put a lot of attention into putting together special items that all have meaning in the Buddhist religion. There are lots of authentic Tibetan items found throughout the lovely space.
