Terri Bell creates unique and fascinating art through the use of mixed media and photography. "I enjoy challenging preconceptions about photography through the creative post-production of images where I combine and manipulate photos and photo segments into abstract art prints and works on canvas and paper," explains Bell. It is interesting just how she creates her works, "I shoot hundreds of photographs every week, then combine and refine those photos into interesting designs that take photography to another level." Be sure to drop by her gallery on the first and third Friday of the month or by appointment.

www.sallystockholdphotography.comSally Stockhold is another truly unique Denver artist. She is creating a series of self-portraits in which she uses herself as her canvas to showcase females and males from both history and fiction. In addition, she paints the full life-sized backgrounds used for all of her photography. As Stockhold explains, "I started this project of using myself as the 'canvas' to depict iconic people from history and fiction because I've always been inspired by the lives of strong, iconic women and sometimes the men who influenced their lives. I try never to impersonate but rather embody each subject and refer to their iconographic qualities. I feel these photographs are never taken; instead, I prefer to think that these extraordinary people gave their images to me."
Jackie Nuxoll

The woman behind Selah Photography is Jackie Nuxoll, a wedding photographer that specializes in artistic wedding photos. These are not your standard black-and-white poses in front of a bunch of flowers. Instead, they are truly stunning and modern photos that anyone would be proud to hang on their wall. As Nuxoll explains, "I find that my imagery is most successful when it accurately depicts the couple. A wedding of mine was recently published on a wedding blog in Europe. The author who wrote about the imagery, knowing nothing about the couple, said that the photographs were poetic. Little did she know, the bride was actually a poet. When the images show real life and character, my style is in full bloom."

MaryLynn Gillaspie is a portrait photographer, however she takes portraiture to a new, very artistic level. Gillaspie works in many different areas but her work with music CD covers is some of her most creative and beautiful work. "I enjoy working with musicians for CD covers and images probably because of my personal musical past. I was a founding member of the vocal jazz group Rare Silk. I enjoy working on musicians' CD covers and always find music to be an integral part of any photo shoot," offers Gillaspie. She also currently sings at Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret several times a year.
