New Center Researches Fighting Wildfires From Air
RIFLE, Colo. (CBS4) - The Rifle Garfield County Airport will house a new research center to find the best ways to fight wildfires from the air.
Researchers are trying to prevent a fire like the one that killed 14 firefighters on Storm King Mountain 21 years ago.
The Western Slope location was chosen in part because Colorado Mountain College offers a Fire Science Technology degree.
